Abstract Fine-Art Prints and Posters to decorate the home or office Art Tip: Look for artwork that complements the colour scheme of your wall. Take into consideration that colour and light patterns can have and impact on mood which can be transmitted to anyone viewing the painting. Bright and challenging colours can irritate and make some people feel nervous, dull colours can make people feel sad and dark colours can sometimes make people feel oppressed. Select colours which are pleasant to your eye which you can enjoy for hours without feeling a sense of fatigue and irritation. Never hang artwork in relationship to the height of the ceiling. It should be hung in relation to the anchor you're hanging it above or the floor. In a low–ceiling room, this means you should hang your artwork about 8 inches above the anchor. In a room with high ceilings, hang pieces 12 inches above the anchor. When hanging artwork without an anchor, the basic rule is to measure 66 inches from the floor – the middle of your artwork should be at this height. This brings the artwork at approximate “eye level” – the normal qualification for hanging art. Click on selected image for larger view, price details and custom framing options.
