Born in Canton, China, Chiu developed an interest in art at an early age. He began his studies in China and continued at the Art Student's League in New York after immigrating to America in 1974. His work is a combination of the essential qualities of traditional realism and contemporary painting techniques. His paintings hang in numerous personal and corporate collections throughout the world.
